TableGrab Privacy Policy

Effective 22 October 2026 · applies to the TableGrab browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox

Short version: TableGrab does not collect, store, transmit or sell your browsing data or the contents of the tables you copy. Everything happens inside your browser.

What TableGrab does with page content

When you click the TableGrab icon, use its keyboard shortcut or its right-click menu, the extension reads the HTML tables on the page you are currently viewing, converts them to the format you choose (Markdown, CSV, TSV, JSON, HTML or Excel) and places the result on your clipboard or saves it as a file you download. This processing happens entirely on your device. No table content, page URL or page title is sent to us or to any third party.

What TableGrab stores

Your preferences (header handling, merged-cell behaviour, link format, CSV delimiter and similar). Stored with your browser's extension storage and, if you are signed in to your browser, synced by your browser between your own devices.
Licence status (whether Deep Capture is unlocked or in trial, and when it was last checked). Stored locally on your device so the extension works offline.

TableGrab sets no cookies of its own and includes no analytics, advertising or tracking code.

Payments and licences (ExtensionPay)

The optional Deep Capture upgrade is sold through ExtensionPay, which processes payments with Stripe. When you open the payment or free-trial page, or when the extension checks whether your licence is active, the extension contacts extensionpay.com with a random, extension-generated key that identifies your install. If you buy or start a trial, ExtensionPay and Stripe receive the email address and payment details you enter on their pages; we never see your card details. ExtensionPay's privacy policy is at extensionpay.com/privacy. No table content is ever included in these requests.

Permissions, in plain words

activeTab and scripting: lets TableGrab read the tables on the one tab you invoke it on, only when you invoke it.
clipboardWrite: puts the converted table on your clipboard.
storage: saves your preferences and licence status.
contextMenus: adds the right-click "TableGrab" menu.
Access to extensionpay.com: needed only for the licence and payment flow described above.

Children

TableGrab is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted in the extension's release notes.
